From Wairau to Mohua

The Ipu Ohotata emergency container network is now set up at marae right across Te Tauihu! The work put in by all our marae has been so impressive, and in a relatively short time there has been awesome progress.

Our marae are a safe haven, and we know that when disaster strikes, with one phone call, the whānau will be there and ready to help. The Ipu network acknowledges that key role our marae play in an emergency and ensures they have what they need when the time comes.

Rātā Foundation has been a supportive partner of this kaupapa from the start. Have a look at their short video below highlighting some of this work.
 
It is awesome to note some of our marae have also been successful in their applications for Te Puni Kōkiri Kainga Rua resource to support emergency management. Meantime, Lorr, and Shane Graham have recently completed the Emergency Management Controller course, adding another layer to our response structure. Ka mau te wehi!
