Job opportunity
Kia ora koutou,
We expect there will be an increase in demand and support for services in relation to the impact of COVID-19 for 2022/2023. As such, Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Charitable Trust is looking to appoint three Kaitūhono-a-hapori COVID to support whānau through isolation periods. These contracts are fixed-term through to June 30, 2023.
To enable service coverage across Te Tauihu we are looking for:
0.6 FTE Motueka based
0.6 FTE Wairau based
0.8 FTE Whakatū based
These roles have been designed to support the welfare needs of individuals and whānau to keep safe while isolating at home/in the community, navigating and connecting them to various services during their isolation and transition from self isolation.
They will provide support to both Māori and non-Māori affected individuals and their whānau.
The Kaitūhono-a-Hapori COVID will:
Assist whānau through advocacy and information, with accessing their longer term income entitlements and other wider services (i.e. housing, education and employment).
Address immediate hardship, especially where someone may not be entitled to receive MSD support and support them to access wider services and resources to support their wellbeing.
Access food and essential items during self-isolation.
Access health and safety programmes, including mental health, addiction services, anger management or family violence services.
Access support to improve their ability to self-isolate at home.
