Preparing for Kirihimete

The Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu and Te Pātaka crew were blown away after putting out a call for help to pack emergency kai boxes to cover the busy Christmas and school holiday period.

The support was incredible. We had friends and whanaunga turn help from iwi offices, MSD, Corrections, Te Hauora o Ngāti Rārua, Marlborough Emergency Management Group, the Ministry of Education and more! Ngā mihi ki a koutou!

In Wairau, we collectively packed 449 kai and household packs and in Waimeha, we prepared an impressive 391 kai boxes.

A huge mihi to all involved, this was a real team effort. And also to the Nelson Mail/Stuff who came along and did this cool story and video.
