Save the date! Tū Ngātahi
Mark it in your calendars e te whānau, it's time to take some time to celebrate our awesome rohe!!
Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Trust, in collaboration with Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu, Toiere and Te Whatu Ora - Nelson Marlborough, is hosting an afternoon of free entertainment in Whakatū for the whole whānau. Mākete, kai stalls, kapa haka and more!
Why?
Well in the space of three years, Te Tauihu o Te Waka a-Māui (the top of the South Island) has been living with COVID-19, its lockdowns, its hospitalisations, its mamae and still today we are experiencing its ongoing effects.
Te Tauihu has also lived through five Civil Defence declarations over three successive years and let's not even talk about the added pressures of the cost of living!
Tū Ngātahi is about bringing together our communities to celebrate their resilience through times of change. Tū Ngātahi is that "gesture of unity", an acknowledgment of what we've all been through - let's take some time out, as whānau, as families, as communities, to take a breath and relax.
Detailed stage line-up coming later in January, but save the date whānau and see you there.
Mauri ora!
