Tauira Māori i Te Tauihu o Te Waka-a-Māui
Oral Health Therapist (Degree Programme)
Te Piki Oranga and Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough (Health New Zealand) welcome local tauira Māori (students) to receive financial support and awhi through this three-year degree programme and beyond.
Programmes are currently available at Auckland University of Technology and Otago University.
The scholarship Programme provides:
Awhi/support with the Community Oral Health Service
$5k first year at commencement of studies
$11k second year, paid to the student loan account at successful completion of the second year
$11k third year, paid to the student loan account on signing of employment agreement with agreement to work for Te Whatu Ora – Nelson Marlborough for the coming year at 0.8FTE or more.
Payment at the end of year two working for Te Whatu Ora – Nelson Marlborough of $7,500 pro-rata to their FTE.
Payment at the end of year three of $7,500 pro-rata to their FTE.
In addition, for Motueka and Wairau the Ministry of Health New Graduate bonding scheme also applies across the first three post graduate years and beyond with up to $19,660 spread over five years available when working for Te Whatu Ora.
