Te Ahi a Mahuika

Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu is calling for registrations for Te Ahi a Mahuika, The Fire of Mahuika.

This programme will be delivered in Wairau and seeks to strengthen wāhine Māori by delving into the pūrakau (stories) of our tīpuna (ancestors) and the traits that they had. We will spend time self reflecting and considering the Atua of these pūrakau and which of these traits we each possess.

We will explore work, training and business opportunities and how Te Kotahi can support each wahine on their pathway toward self-reliance and self-resilience. Wāhine must be registered with WINZ as a Job Seeker or Single Parent, be of Māori descent and have tamariki.

The wānanga is a total of 75 hours, utilising 15 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday, from 9.30am – 2.30pm.
