Back to the Islands

While daily Covid-19 case numbers have dropped, the importance of getting vaccinated remains the same. Pacific and Māori vaccination numbers have slowed down, increasing the risk to our vulnerable communities.

To encourage whānau to consider vaccination, especially those who are unvaccinated or only have one primary dose, Te Tauihu Māori health provider Te Piki Oranga has joined the Back to the Islands campaign, a Pacific provider initiative that will see all whānau of Māori and Pacific descent who get their Covid-19 (and flu or MMR) vaccination at any Te Piki Oranga clinic go in the draw to win travel prizes to the Pacific Islands.

The prize draw includes the chance to win:

·      Return flights and accommodation with buffet breakfast for two to Samoa

·      Return flights and accommodation with buffet breakfast for two to Tonga

·      Travel vouchers that can be used for any domestic or international travel

How to enter:

  • Get your Covid-19 and flu or MMR shot at any Te Piki Oranga clinic (until Saturday, October 16). For a full list of clinics see here.

  • Every eligible person gets one entry into the draw for every vaccination.

  • Winners will be announced in mid-November 2022.

  • Terms and Conditions apply, including complying with Pacific nations’ vaccination requirements.

For more information, see the Back to the Islands Facebook page.
